Waterfowl & Pheasant Hunting at its Best!

James River Outfitters is located 20 miles northeast of Aberdeen, South Dakota near the little town of Columbia and a few miles from the Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

When you hunt with us, you can expect experienced guides, professionally trained dogs, comfortable accommodations, home cooked meals, game cleaning and a Great Hunt.

We are now taking applications and deposits for the 2008 hunting season. If interested in reserving the entire lodge for your hunting party exclusively, you will have to have a minimum of 10 hunters. Dates will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis, so call David at 804-301-7493 to reserve your dates.

Waterfowl

James River Outfitters is located in the heart of the James River Plateau "Pothole Region." Whether you are interested in hunting ducks or geese, we can offer you the finest in waterfowl hunting. The migration of Greater Canadian, Lesser Canadian, Blues, Speckles and Snow Geese from Canada insures great Goose Hunting. We offer a wide variety of species of ducks, including pintails, gadwalls, widgeon, green and blue wing teal, mallards, red heads, ringbills, and canvasbacks. Hunting is available over water and fields.

Pheasants

At James River Outfitters, we offer some of the finest Ringneck Pheasant hunting available. You will hunt over fields of corn, milo, sunflowers, and CRP. The pheasant population in South Dakota is at an all time high.
